Important Message Regarding Your 2019 Dues

Your 2019 NOMAR Dues have been invoiced.  Dues are payable now, and become delinquent on December 1, 2018.  The following delinquent fees apply:  Dec 1st = $50, Jan 1st = $75, Feb 1st = $100. 

If you are going inactive, please advise us in writing; we cannot terminate membership, nor refund NOMAR or GSREIN Dues without written notification.  In order to refund 2019 NOMAR dues, your license must be updated at LREC and a refund request in writing must be received no later than December 27, 2018.  In order to refund GSREIN dues, your license must be updated at LREC and a refund request in writing must be received no later than January 14, 2019.  GSREIN refunds are only issued the week of January 14th and cannot be issued after this date.  A $25 processing fee will be deducted from all refunds.  Refund requests should be emailed to This email address is being protected from spambots. Your local dues sustain the products, services and operations of NOMAR at both the Northshore and Southshore facilities.  The local dues assessment for NOMAR will remain the same for 2019.

In addition to the services you receive from NOMAR, as a REALTOR®, you also receive a high level of quality services from the National and State Associations.  The National dues assessment has increased $30 for 2019.  NAR’s Special assessment will remain $35 for 2019.  For more information regarding the NAR’s assessments, click here.  The State assessment will remain the same for 2019.  The LR Special assessment of $25 expired 12/31/2018.   More information about the services provided by the National and State associations can be obtained by visiting those Associations’ websites (NAR http://www.nar.realtor and LR http://www.larealtors.org) or visit www.nomar.org to find a link to these associations.

2019 Dues Q & A

What is the due date?
2019 Board Dues are due by November 30th.  On December 1st, all unpaid invoices will be assessed a $50 late fee that must be paid with your dues.  On January 1st, all unpaid invoices will be assessed a $25 late fee that must be paid with your dues.  On February 1st, all unpaid invoices will be assessed a $25 late fee that must be paid with your dues.

What happens if I pay my dues after November 30th?
On December 1st, you will be assessed a $50 late fee that must be paid with your dues in order to be considered paid in full.

What happens if I pay my dues after December 31st?
On January 1st, you will be assessed an additional late fee of $25 that must be paid with your dues in order to be considered paid in full.  Also, your personal MLS services will be suspended until paid in full.

What happens if I pay my dues after January 31st?
On February 1st, you will be assessed an additional late fee of $25 that must be paid with your dues in order to be considered paid in full.

What happens if I pay my dues after February 28th?
On March 1st, if the broker still holds a license for an agent that has not paid his/her 2019 board dues in full, services for the broker's entire office will be suspended.

Where and when are the invoices mailed?
NOMAR does not mail paper invoices.  Your broker received an email notification on October 1st stating that all of their agents have been invoiced.  As a courtesy, all agents have also received an email notification.

How can I pay my dues?

How do I pay my dues online?
Go to our website, www.nomar.org or Click Here to Pay Your Dues Online. From the home page, click on “REALTOR® Professionals” in the top right hand corner.  Click on “Member’s Log In” in the top right hand corner.  A new screen will appear, enter your Logon ID (usually the same as your MLS ID) and Password (member #).  You are now logged in and your member’s dashboard appears.  Click on “Make a Payment”.  Click “Pay My NOMAR Dues”.  Click on “View Paid & Unpaid Invoices”.  All unpaid invoices will be listed.  Check the “Pay Now” box for all invoices you choose to pay.  Click “Choose Payment Options”, then “Credit Card” or “Telecheck”.  Enter your information as requested, verify and click “Submit”.  Your payment will be processed immediately and your account will be updated.  Print a receipt for your records. 

What form of payment does NOMAR accept?
Personal Check, Company Check, Money Order, Certified Check, Visa Card, MasterCard, American Express Card, Discover Card.  NO CASH payments accepted.

Who do I make the check payable to?
NOMAR or N.O. Metropolitan Association of REALTORS, Inc.

Does NOMAR offer a payment plan?

Please note that all dues deadlines must be met:

I do not see an invoice for one of my Licensees.  What do I do?

Does NOMAR and/or GSREIN give refunds?
NAR, LR & NOMAR Board dues refunds must be requested in writing by December 27, 2018.  Board Dues refunds cannot be given after this date. All refunds are subject to a $25 processing fee.  Note:  Your license must be updated at LREC by December 27, 2018 in order to receive a refund of your 2019 Board Dues. 

GSREIN (MLS) dues refunds must be requested in writing by January 14, 2019.  MLS Dues refund requests will not be accepted after this date.  All refunds are pro-rated and a $25 processing fee will be deducted.  Note:  Your license must be updated at LREC by January 14, 2019 in order to receive a refund of your MLS dues.

What is my PAC Contribution used for?

NAR Special Assessment:  Your 2019 dues include a $35.00 mandatory assessment to fund consumer advertising.  These highlight the value a REALTOR® brings to a transaction and reinforce the REALTOR® brand.  Please note that the entire $35.00 portion of dues qualifies as deductible dues.

Louisiana REALTORS® Political Action Committee Disclosure (LARPAC):  Contributions are used for political purposes, are voluntary, and are not deductible for Federal income tax purposes.  Neither your membership nor your participation in Louisiana REALTORS® is conditioned directly or indirectly on making a contribution  to LARPAC Seventy percent (70%) of all Major Investor contributions are used LARPAC to directly support state and local political campaigns and issues.  The balance is sent to RPAC to support Federal candidates and political advocacy efforts and is charged against your limits under 52 U.S.C. 30116.  LARPAC retains the balance of contributions to directly support state and local political campaigns and issues.

 

Dues Non-Deductibility

Dues Non-Deductibility:  Compliance with the Tax Reform Act of 1993 requires that the portion of dues attributable to lobbying and political activities at the State and Federal levels of government be considered non-deductible for income tax purposes.  As a 501c6 organization, NAR, LR & NOMAR engage in “lobbying” activities as defined by the IRS.  The 2019 non-deductible percentage of member dues for NAR, LR & NOMAR is as follows:

National Association of REALTORS®                                          38%        $57.00 dues of $150.00
Louisiana REALTORS®                                                                   35%        $54.00 dues of $155.00
New Orleans Metropolitan Association of REALTORS®          30%        $44.00 dues of $149.00
This amount of dues cannot be deducted by REALTOR® members for tax purposes.

Licensing Fee (Applies to Brokers & Agents)
Due to LREC by 12/31/18.

E & O Insurance (Errors & Omissions) (Applies to Brokers & Agents)
Due to LREC, if using State Policy.
Due to Broker, if Broker has separate policy.  Broker collects and submits.  Policy must be approved by LREC and proof provided to LREC that policy is in effect.  Contact your Broker for more information.

NOMAR, LR & NAR Dues (Applies to Brokers & Agents)
Due to NOMAR.
Invoiced annually on October 1st and due by November 30th for the following calendar year.  Delinquent on December 1st and late fee assessed.  The mandatory dues amount for 2019 is $489.
NOMAR Local dues are $149, Louisiana REALTOR® (LR) dues are $155, National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) dues are $150 and NAR Special Assessment is $35.

LARPAC Contribution (Applies to Brokers & Agents)
Due to NOMAR.

MLS User Fees (Applies to Agents)
Due to GSREIN.
Invoiced annually on June 1st and due by June 30th for upcoming fiscal year.  The MLS fiscal year is July 1st thru June 30th.  Delinquent on July 1st and late fee assessed.

MLS Broker Fees (Applies to Brokers)
Due to GSREIN.
Invoiced quarterly and due by the 15th of the quarter.  Invoice dates are January 1st, April 1st, July 1st & October 1st.  If not paid by the 15th of the month, a delinquent fee is assessed on the 16th.  If not paid by the 25th of the month, MLS services for the entire office are suspended until paid in full.

CID Dues (Applies to Active Commercial Investment Division Members)
Due to CID.
Invoiced annually on October 1st and due by December 31st

Payment Plans (Applies to Brokers & Agents of NOMAR & GSREIN)
